History

Koreisha Senior Care & Advocacy was established from a group of concerned citizens who tried to save Keiro from being sold to a “for-profit” entity, Pacifica Companies. This was an informal group who named themselves the Ad Hoc Committee to Save Keiro (see SaveKeiro.org). Unfortunately, the Attorney General Kamala Harris, who approved the sale while waiving the need for a public hearing where the public could voice its concerns, was apparently more preoccupied with her campaign to become a U.S. Senator rather than protect the people of California. And according to her, once she made her ruling her hands were tied. Despite multiple requests to explain the quick ruling, the AG Office delayed their reply and eventually escrow closed and the sale was final.
